The people at the Nicene Council and the other councils were not prophets.
CaptainHammer Send a noteboard - 05/10/2011 04:59:50 AM
They were not being inspired by God as to what the requirements to be a Christian were. The prophets in Old and New Testament times, who received revelation and knowledge from God, never made any statements as to what you had to believe to be Christian. Thus, how can a council of men, who did not receive any revelations from God as to what you have to do and believe to be a Christian or any guidance from a prophet of the Lord, be the ones to make the tenets for being Christian?
