But I definitely agree with TMJ. There was a period of time that is infamous. I got here just to see it fade, really. And yes, we are drooping more each year.
I still think it is just that the main base has aged and gotten busy with life. And it's hard to attract new people, probably because we've lost the draw of the specific books, and we've lost many of the people who liked to discuss them. They might have been a stronger part of this site if we hadn't treated them poorly.

Thus I agree with pretty much everything you said. Life inevitably takes some people elsewhere sooner or later, and if there are no new arrivals the community dies as a result, whether "the community" is RAFO or Dubuque, IA. What really makes it obvious now is that new arrivals continued to find their way to wotmania for years after the Great Crash (you and I are proof of that), but that doesn't seem to be the case any longer. Unless RAFO is willing and able to change those conditions the long term future seems as clear now as it has been from the start.
