As smartphones progress and SMS merges with e-mail, and bandwidth increases, Twitter will become obsolete. I think Facebook can replicate what Twitter does without buying it. In other words, the idea is too limited and too easy to copy for Twitter to last.
EDIT: And please use the subjunctive correctly. The proper form is "were", not "was".
is the 140 character message limit. If you're going to be obnoxious, there must be limits. And furthermore, I don't care if this means you can't explain your Nobel Prize research to me. If it's more than 140 characters, I refuse to read it, and I won't respond it.
Say what you want about facebook, but at least there I can hide...
