When I first read that I thought you meant "nitty-gritty" was one of the words they checked.

Interesting test linked on Twitter today. Not sure how scientific and accurate it is - they give detailed reasoning for word choice under "Nitty-Gritty" - but it's a little bit fun.
My guess is it's pretty accurate for people with an SAT verbal around 700; trouble is, as they note, that's a pretty small chunk of the populace. I came in slightly above average for my age (37 next month) and SAT verbal (720) at 36,900, which would probably be good anywhere but here. If only I hadn't blanked on "nostrum" it would be over 37,000.
EDIT: As a point of reference, the wife came in at 21,400 (she says it's because she doesn't know all the French words, but she took French in school and I didn't, so I don't see why that matters. ) Still pretty good for a non-native speaker, but what embarrasses me is that copyrightamilla will probably crush both of us.

Indeed. If you read their explanation, however, there's a decent reason for that.

I got 35700, but I was perhaps too generous in ticking boxes.

The wife had the same reaction to "lots", "somewhat" and "not much".
