A mix of something and nothing is impossible; one thing is one thing, not a mix.

Sometimes I wonder if you and I are using the same dictionary....
EDIT: Honestly though, it really makes no difference; I wouldn't have believed it either, but turns out things are actually a lot WORSE than I thought. I'll pop up a thread for this article around next Monday, but it removes all lingering doubts I had that the "choice" between Republicans and Democrats amounts to anything more than whether I want to be beaten to death by someone using a club and calling it that or by someone who calls it a cute fwuffy cuddle stick. What you, I or anyone reading this exchange thinks, says or does within that paradigm is less than irrelevant, because we have no role in American government. A couple hundred greedy dishonest people on Wall Street destroyed the economy of an entire planet with fraud--and impunity. A couple hundred greedy dishonest others in Houston are seemingly trying to boil that planet and objections from the rest of the world watching it happen are dismissed as tainted by greed. Agree with me, disagree; do what you like, because if we have nothing else in common, we have this: Our respective opinions on how American government should function and why it doesn't are equally trivial. Until there's a viable third party this political system and this government can't work because it WON'T; Democrats and Republicans alike well know that it is literally their job to ensure government doesn't work: That's what corporate America pays them to do.

Which would be less annoying if so much of Congress didn't suffer from the same delusions.

S&P specifically cited GOP refusal to raise taxes among their reasons.

Of course one could just read the actual S&P report

Sure.

Right, ABC new's summary of the report is not the report

Link works, but I'm not sure why you think it refutes snoops assessment or mine.

It doesn't refute it, it just isn't this simple distillation you're offering

It's more than half a sentence; I quoted several paragraphs.

Well yes, after I gave you the report, I think I'm pretty obviously refering to before that

Before that I was referring to the paragraphs quoted in the ABC report.

I read a "mix" to be a mix.

09/08/2011 03:42:13 PM

Because, when you get down to it, the debt ceilings very existence was always a political threat.
