I think that's only the beginning of flaws in his argument. LadyLorraine Send a noteboard - 29/07/2011 09:54:27 PM
He is definitely glorifying the "hunter-gatherer" days and seems to have very little idea of what that actually entailed.

Then his whole description of "most" people's lives is well...even if you assume that most people are married with kids, working regimented office/service jobs, to assume that most of them are working in the worst Office Space style misery, coming home to a broken marriage with horrible kids is uhm, a bit much. And I doubt even that root assumption that that is "most people's" life situation is correct. What about all the farmers, teachers, medical professionals, artists, musicians, construction workers, park rangers, fire men, police men, etc...etc... There are plenty of professions with plenty of people that don't fit the "9-5 office/retail" stereotype.

Yah, dude. If you assume that hunting/gathering was heaven on earth (it's not) and everyone was working the most dismally boring job and broken life situation (they're not), I can see where you'd think people weren't happy because we're not behaving as we "Evolved to"....

Although, honestly, if hunting and gathering was that great, why do you think we stopped doing it
