Entertainment value shouldn't be the first goal of the news. Politicians are going to spin, it is what they do, it would be nice to have some media that actually thought informing people so they could make their best decision was still a goal. I mean it isn't even like the politicians are being sly and crafty, anyone paying a little bit of attention can see that the BS is piled high and deep on both sides of the isle. I don't think the answer is so much throw them out as hold them accountable for the words and their actions. If you support or opposition to doing something like raising the debt ceiling changes depending on whose ass sits in the oval office you need to be publicly called out on that. We also need to get away form letting them just blame the other guys. make them be specific about what actions actually caused the problems and make them be specific about how they think the problem need to be resolved. We also need to get away from making politicians take vows other than their oath of office. We shouldn't be sending them to the table to compromise after we forced them to publicly swear they wouldn't.
Sorry I'm tired and feeling a little ranty.
No worries; preach on brother. Yes, you and I have differences of opinion on this, I'm sure, but I was just ranting about that same thing this morning. It is painfully obvious that both sides are going for an agenda, and that that is not helping us get to the goal. Well, unless that goal is either keeping Obama in office or getting him out.
And I agree completely with the last line of your main paragraph. I'm so frustrated with all of them right now, but that most of all.

Boehner was onboard with Obamas initial deal but cited his caucus as the reason he backed out of it.
