Not sure where you live but if it is the US you don't need to prove anything to get a divorce just get one if you feel threatened. If he comes after when you leave get the police involved. If you don't and you just want him arrested you have to ask yourself if you really want the legal expense and to have a husband who has to explain his domestic violence record when he applies for a job. Getting the police and courts involved does nothing for you if you plan on staying.

Personally I think you are over reacting if you end the marriage over it but I don't know what else is going on. O would make sure he is very clear on the idea that is not OK. Maybe start salting his coffee for a while and then claiming it was just a joke.
