Today I led worship at the Children's hospital where I have been working this semester, my last one before moving on to other things. We had a two and a half year old girl in with us, brought by her physical therapy workers. She is awaiting a foster placement; her parents abused and neglected her. She has been with the hospital for about a month now, and in all that time, no hospital worker ever heard her make a sound. No laughing, no crying, nothing.
Today, in chapel, we were singing Amazing Grace, and her physical therapists started freaking out. I glanced over her way, and was blown away.
She was singing. The words were gibberish, but there she was plain as day, singing out loud with this huge smile on her face. Afterwards her therapists hugged on her and cried, and I admit I had a few tears as well. She laughed at all of us, and sang the next song, too.
So yeah. That was pretty cool.

Eschew Verbosity
Did anyone catch the number of that God moment?

Very sweet. It's moments like that that break through the cynicism and offer hope of healing. *NM*
