Fair enough on the second point (almost) – correction duly edited in. Tim Send a noteboard - 06/05/2011 10:16:39 PM
Although (and this is the reason for the "almost") you did preface the "public/private choice" option with "or at least". And you put it in the main body of your post (where it's less obvious), while the subject line said "private is better than public". So the message was pretty clear: you think private is best, but would accept public/private competition as a second-choice option.

On the first point, would you care to specify precisely where I said "exactly" what randomthoughts claimed I did? Because I just re-read my own post, and all I see is arguments against abolishing public schools. Which is not in any way the same as arguments for abolishing private schools. Unless, of course, the person reading the post isn't capable of grasping the idea of there being two different kinds of school in the same country.

—Nous disons en allemand : le guerre, le mort, le lune, alors que 'soleil' et 'amour' sont du sexe féminin : la soleil, la amour. La vie est neutre.

—La vie ? Neutre ? C'est très joli, et surtout très logique.

If groceries were like education... the analogy would be apt. But they aren't, and it isn't. - 06/05/2011 09:40:37 AM 586 Views
