That's a rather big non-sequitur there, don't you think? Legolas Send a noteboard - 06/05/2011 06:36:51 PM
By contrast, if you don't send your kids to school, they don't die – they just grow up to be useless people who do nothing but hang around causing trouble for everyone else. Then they can't get a job, so it's either benefits or crime, and the economy goes (even further) down the toilet. Unlike with food, vast numbers of parents wouldn't care enough about education to make their children go to school, or to pay for it in the first place.

Who on earth is talking about allowing parents the right to refuse their children an education? Not the article I just read, that's for sure. Giving parents free school choice does not mean giving them the choice to choose no school at all - not unless they homeschool and meet certain standards for that, so that's an education too.

It's true that the article reaches lunatic-land when it starts about how it'd be even better if all schools were private, but up until that paragraph it certainly has good points.

If groceries were like education... the analogy would be apt. But they aren't, and it isn't. - 06/05/2011 09:40:37 AM 587 Views

Very narrow-minded - the point is, private is better than public..... - 06/05/2011 02:47:39 PM 402 Views
