I'd prefer to save the electoral college for another day, I'm not a huge fan of it either I just know I'm not a hypocrite on the issue because a few days before the election I had a discussion with a friend over a poll showing Bush up a hair and Gore more likely to get the electoral college, and I said I hoped Bush won but the fair rules are the current rules, because that's what they're competing for and they spend their time and money accordingly. I don't know if Bush would have won or lost if it had been popular vote going in, but I'm 100% positive the final tally and the various precincts around the country would have looked different if they had gone in that way. Just like maybe a field goal should be worth 2 or 4 points instead of 3, 5 field goals vs 2 touchdowns 15-14 may not really prove Team A was better, but they probably wouldn't have kicked five times if they were only worth 2 points a piece, and we'd see a lot less 4th down attempts to get a first down if they were worth 4 instead.
Point was that that legislation involves a much larger real change, has been going on far longer, and is just as partisan, more partisan even, then what happened in AZ, there aren't hoardes of democrats rolling their eyes or sneering at that, no Dem governor vetoing it, and none of the right-wingers here posted on it, there's still people ranting about the 'stolen election' and prominent Dems don't come out and point out how thin that evidence is. Personally I doubt you'd be willing to say Bush won the election fair and square, and that fringe liberals should stop talking about it, and that you won't see the parallels with this case.

The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.

One is the origianl document and one is a certificate created when it is requested.
