I've had those kinds of dreams about exes before Brian Send a noteboard - 19/09/2009 10:14:27 AM
They suck. It sucks to wake up and feel like it just happened yesterday all over again.

The best I can say...is it fades. It takes a couple days, but it fades. From time to time I still have dreams about my ex-wife even, and we haven't been together in years. They usually aren't nice dreams, but she's there, and sometimes I wake up, and I'm right back in that place. Every time it happens though, it goes away and I'm back to normal again within a week or so.

It's all part of the process of letting it go....some people leave your life, and no matter how hard you try, you can never stop loving them....some people will always be a part of you. You just have to make peace with the part of you that they are, and make peace with some cold hard realities and let their role in your life drift away. It doesn't make the feelings you had for them any less real, and it doesn't mean that you can't still love the person....but I think to really heal you have to let their part in your life fade away.
