Re: Fair enough. Isaac Send a noteboard - 17/03/2011 12:37:12 AM
Gonna have to leave you hanging, my frustration index just topped off and I'm taking a break from chatting politics here for a bit, maybe we can have one of our nice conversations about telescopes or something instead, personally I'm of a mind to think we should all swear a truce not to bring up anything political for like a week or something.

FWIW, I don't think you're trying to mislead anyone; I believe you to be an honest and forthright person and have never had cause to think otherwise. I can't speak for him, but perhaps snoop doesn't feel you're INTENTIONALLY trying to mislead anyone (though in that case "mislead" is probably not the word I would've used; then again, I'm in no position to articulate his thoughts). I do agree with virtually everything else in his last response to you though (particularly the analysis of the EESC Presidents comments). Your response to Camilla did feel to me a lot like an attempt to vindicate what Rush said on its face, with the mention of context only briefly noted in the course of that. I feel obligated to respond, sooner or later, to any posts in my thread about Peter King and his hearings, but otherwise, since I'm getting married the day after tomorrow, a week long moratorium on politics sounds like a good idea. Sorry for the frustration; if it's any consolation I'm a little frustrated with some of these exchanges as well, though not because of you.

I think we all feel frustrated, and I know how strongly you feel about replying when someone's taken the time to reply to you, do as you think best, I'm just jumping ship on all of them, I'm not going to back down off points I believe or ask anyone else to, and I don't trust myself not to accidentally put in a parting shot, never approved of those, easier to to close my mouth entirely. Sorry if I ripped in at you in that other sub-thread, it is as you say, not particularly related to you.

You need to reread what I said - 16/03/2011 10:49:45 PM 519 Views

No. You don't get to say, "what he said doesn't matter because of how we learned of it". - 16/03/2011 11:54:46 PM 545 Views
I told you, I'm done in this thread - 16/03/2011 11:59:08 PM 525 Views

there are enough carzies on the left to make things like this easy for Rush - 16/03/2011 04:20:47 PM 583 Views
So it doesn't matter that no one said it as long as he can plausibly claim they did. - 16/03/2011 06:58:17 PM 513 Views
well since it is taken out of context it is hard to say where Rush was going with it - 16/03/2011 07:19:46 PM 618 Views
Um... he stated where he was going with it. - 16/03/2011 07:30:02 PM 579 Views

Then you don't understand context and this whole discussion is pointless. - 16/03/2011 11:28:47 PM 661 Views
