But I like to buy Xbox games and I my wife will only buy them for me at Christmas and I don't feel like waiting that long. So I work as much to buy myself unnecessary luxuries as to contribute to household maintenance.

And as Clover said, some couples are better suited to male homemaker and female breadwinner. More power to them if they can make that happen. Although I think the dual-income option is the safest and most secure.
