The collapse of the Lebanese government has the potential of starting a general war in the Middle East since the Sunni-Shia tensions in Iraq, Lebanon and generally in the region between the Iran-Syria Shi'ite bloc and the Saudi-Egyptian-Jordanian-Gulf Arab bloc are very high.
It's not as if the Hariri government was ever a big success, or genuinely managed to bridge the Sunni-Shi'a gap in Lebanon. And Iraq did finally manage to get a government together, so they might want to try and keep it in the saddle for a while...
But I must admit I haven't been following very closely of late.
