Flag burner?
Atheist?
Pot smoker?
Definitely not from the religious or conservative right, that's for sure.

Definitely not from the religious or conservative right, that's for sure.
Plus there's plenty of folks on the right who think that the flag should burn because America died, or so goes the logic, "when the ethnics and gays and non-some-specific-Christian-denomination folks showed up and got rights."
And all those guys who think they can cecede their little strip of land from the US and got the guns to enforce it? Like the group above, they're idiots. A lot of Christian, a lot are them are right wingers.
In this case, we got a crazy, rage-filled loser who killed 6, including a kid. He's a nihilist, I'm guessing. Yet it doesn't really matter what way he'd vote. What Jon Stewart - who you don't know as well as you think you do, I guess - probably said (I haven't watched it yet) is that it's asinine to waste time trying to assign a nutjob a-hole to a group and say that his whole group is like that.
Unless, of course, the group is a bunch of gun-happy losers who want to kill politicians; but that might go without saying...
Obviously the real problem is anger, ignorance, and stupidity. For my money, I find that anger is a frequent aspect of right/christian social and political speech. And America is being ripped apart by each side vilifying the other - I find that the right tends to scream loudest, harshest, and longest in that regard.
I don't think everyone on the right wants an anarchist state or hates gay folks. I don't think everyone on the left is above corporate corruption or self-serving political machinations.
I have the least respect for politicians/righties who act like every lefty would make terrorists; that's stupid. Then again, some people still say Obama is mulsim or not American, but his opponent was born in freaking Panama. Or some misusing words like fascism, communism, and dictatorship. Or tell their radio listeners to buy guns and gold 'cause it's all over soon. Obviously lots of folks aren't using their heads much when it comes to this country and our state of affairs.
If we'd been this polarized in the 1700's, the British would've walked all over us, and we'd be Lower Canada. At least we'd all have health care and legal guarantees and would enjoy soccer, like all other nationalities.
