As I said in another humbug thread a few minutes ago, maybe they should have this holiday in April.

People are more predisposed to be pissy then.
Sounds like your misery is doing just fine without help. Why should someone's joke mess with your enjoyment of your holiday? Go make some cookies or something and stop looking for reasons to be mad about this- Tom's post is all I've seen that's remotely a-christmas.
Actually, this thread didn't bother me as much as it might've seemed, because all things considered I figured it was primarily a joke. However, my dander was already up because, whether you saw them or not, there were already two other Christmas-critical threads (one of them is even titled "For the record: Bah, humbug" ). Unless things changed on Christmas Day (and I haven't had time to check), even before Tom made this one there were more threads bashing Christmas in the last week than celebrating it or wishing anyone happy holidays, let alone merry Christmas. I'm not saying everyone has to celebrate the birth of Christ or even the holidays, I'm just a little sick of being preemptively flipped off for doing so myself. At least Urza still has some Christmas spirit for the CMB.
EDIT: And, for the record: A very merry Christmas and happy new year to you. *hugs tightly*
It was a misanthropic joke that caught on because the world is so misanthropic these days, and Christmas seems to bring out the worst in some folks who need us all to know they're miserable bastards. If they wanna "celebrate" that, fine, but leave me out of it; I won't insist on their happiness if they don't insist on my misery.
