I think it is what you make of it. Antigone Send a noteboard - 14/12/2010 07:10:43 PM
In our household, facebook is a fantastic thing. My husband, who moved here to America to be with me, is from Australia. Except for a visit from his mom last year, he hasn't seen any of his family in a decade. For him, facebook is a way to stay in touch with his family. Even the boring, lame, "I'm having coffee now" posts mean something to him. And it's wonderful to have all the pics available. Of course these things could be done without facebook, but it's convenient.

I've been able to reconnect with friends I've not seen in years. I really missed having these people in my life but had no current address/phone number for any of them. I found them (or they found me) on facebook. It also eased the discomfort of reconnecting...that uncomfortable stage of forgiving each other for losing contact in the first place.

Except for one or two people I added when I was new to facebook and didn't know what I was doing, all my friends are actually my friends or family. I think I only have 30 friends...unheard of!

Anyway...it's been a positive thing for me. :)
