The thing is that the opposition only seems to be partially for that reason. We know there was asbestos and all sorts of bad crap in the air down there. The people who stayed down there trying to rescue people took on a massive risk - I was downtown a week afterwards for only about an hour and felt dizzy and and nauseous. They deserve whatever extra money they need. Period.
