I've been meaning to start using a note organization program for years (I have hundreds of pages of notes, writing and miscellaneous.), but hadn't heard anything about Evernote until a few months ago.
I'd get OneNote, but I'm still rocking Windows XP and am mostly broke, so it's not an option unless I finally land a decent job.
Anyhow, Evernote, there are good reviews online, but being cloud-based on-line, has anyone had any problems with privacy or risking intellectual property with it? As an aspiring writer, I really don't want all of my notes to appear online somewhere. (I've considered trying to set up an offline wiki or something instead -- my main need is tagging and/or indexing.)
I use a PC, by the way, and will not be switching to a Mac, least of all for one program. (Which is why I'm so happy Scrivener has finally put together a version for Windows, though I haven't started using the beta yet.)

I have heard only good things from Lifehacker, but I've never used it. Sorry.
