Regarding school and classes, continue taking those you enjoy and are interested in such as Macroeconomics and Business Enterprises. Don't worry about locking into a career path when you're all of what, 18, 19, 20? The key here is to do what you enjoy, so find it even if it takes longer.

Once of the best things about university is that you can join any number of clubs doing things. You don't even need to join one, just go to a meeting or two to check it out. You're more likely to meet people of similar interests, and make real friends. All of my current friends are from clubs and organizations I've joined and taken part in.

Humans are social animals: sitting alone somewhere isn't natural. And as anti-thetical as it may sound given the medium (and perhaps hypocritical of me), internet friends don't count. Much of my adult life has been about just this. It's something I still struggle with on occaison, but I'm getting better... it's a process ;)

It's important to throw yourself "out there" and open yourself to failure and rejection. Most of the times, that's what you'll encounter. But the rest of the time makes it worthwhile, when you find something engaging to really get rolling with and grow as a person.
