Yet she accomplished a lot more than Obama and Reids bipartisanship.

Seriously, i heard so much negative talk about her during this election but no one ever said anything about why they specifically hate her so much? is it the creepy plastic surgery? cuz other than that i cant off the top of my head remember her doing or saying anything other democrats were not saying.
After six years of GOP control of Congress and the Presidency that saw some pretty mean and nasty treatment of "the other party" she managed to come in when the Democrats retook control of congress in a cry by the public for more bi-partisanship and managed to make Congress even worse. In the last two years there has been very little across the aisle talk between parties, some by GOP choice but a lot of it by the Democrat's refusal to forgive and forget and cooperate in a reasonable manner. Some of that, well, a lot of that has to fall at the feet of leadership and she was the primary voice of the Democrats the last two years. While I don't think she is dumb like some other people I don't like I do think it was a mistake for the democrats to ever let her be Speaker. During several of her speeches I hear parts of, including her speech right before passing Healthcare, she sounded out of touch with the mood of the nation and even somewhat patronizing. The House of Representatives is supposed to be the voice of the people. She made it the voice of her beliefs and ignored any other dissenting voices as she barreled on and forced legislation that most Americans simply did not want made law.
Oh, I had to laugh when she recently made clear she wants to remain as the Minority Leader. If the Democrats let her take that position then they truly deserve to take even further losses in 2012. She has no business leading anything anymore.
Republican may hate Pelosi, but I think we all know who and what they've been primarily running against for the last year and a half. The bill Pelosis House passed would've gotten libs to the polls, but after it was reconciled with the Senate bill (i.e. gutted) libs stayed home. Obama can tell us this is no time to sit out the process, but if he can do it I don't see why I can't. Particularly when the same David Axelrod who's been spamming me since I stood in the Austin drizzle for Obamas first major rally, next to someone I drove 90 miles (one way) to get there, has suddenly decided my thoughts and feelings are no longer welcome in the administration I nominated and elected (my money, of course, is as welcome as ever ).
Bipartisanship was never on the table here, and I consider it to Pelosis credit that she realized that. How many Republicans in the House and Senate vote for the healthcare bill? Hell, how many of them voted for ANY piece of Obama legislation (y'know, except for the no strings corporate bailouts they call socialism now)? Her style may at times be lacking, her civility, but her basic attitude is entirely justified. You can't "work with" people who've explicitly stated at the outset their only goal is your failure. Given that as many people oppose Obamacare because it did too LITTLE rather than too much, and that a majority still supports healthcare reform, saying her views on the issue don't represent the majority seems questionable to me. One thing of which I'm certain though is that of Pelosi, Reid and Obama, her efforts on healthcare reform reflected the majority will FAR more than those of the other two. Obama and Reid blew this one (HUGELY) but she'll pay the price. Typical.
