I'm sure they'd be miserable government officials like every other person in recent history. It is much easier and much safer to simply mock everyone, regardless of who is controlling the government, than to actually conceive of and implement any sound policy. (much like it is a whole lot easier to criticize everyone on the internet rather than contributing anything useful)
Yes, but simply the ability to cut through the bullshit would be helpful. If Obama had done that rather than engage with it, he might be able to actually do something.
