The bank can get a judgment against you but it can be very hard for them to collect. If you declare bankruptcy at the same time it is even harder for them to collect.

There are consequences to defaulting and I am not saying doing so it a good idea. I plan on keeping my house. I am just asking about from an ethics point of view. It has been boring around here of late and I thought an ethical discussion with no politics (or at least very little politics) was in order.
