i can tell you from experience that most comp sci degrees are designed more to get you to become a comp sci professor, and not necessarily if you want to work in the real world. but again, it depends on your school's program and where you want to go with it.
At My uniersity the degree is closely tied with internships and co-ops, they hold marketablibity and job experience in high focus here - which I'm happy about.
As for my goals - I really would just like to graduate with as many doors open for me as possible. Programmer, SysAdmin, Web Developer, etc on my CS Side, Management, Project Leader, or my own consulting firm (way down the line) using my business minor. Or, I can return to my first passion (teaching) and teach at a postsecondary level. Its only my first weekof the degree haha, so in my 3rd or 4th year I'll lean towards a specialty.
So I just changed my major from Education (English) to Computer Science with a Minor in Business

I'm a senior in Computer Science, and I've only got one real suggestion.
