They might as well just have a fake reporter asking, "Have you ceased raping children?" and then splice in a clip of the candidate saying, "No, and I never will."
While his faith may be on the conservative side, he's talking about picking Bible verses to use when praying for your family members that DON'T emphasize those ideas, but rather, the idea of one's personal responsibility to others. While it says something about the nature of the Bible, I'm not sure his comments are even remotely in context in that attack ad.
