I don't really know the environments of Norway or Scotland very well, but if there are substantially more pine trees in Norway, they should be beginning to pollinate around now. All that pine-tree smell might be what's making it feel like christmas?
But I'm in Scotland.
And anyway, no pine trees in the middle of Edinburgh.
