well, i can sympathize with that a bit at least LadyLorraine Send a noteboard - 22/09/2010 10:00:34 PM
My supervisor at work is cool, but one of the librarians is always getting my ass about something or other that's pretty damned irrelevant (she doesn't do so directly, of course. she makes my supervisor middle-man for her)

For example. I work as the "Stacks Assistant" in the veterinary medicine library (of the vet school I attend). My job is to get/put away books, as well as some odd jobs. Yesterday, I was sitting at the front desk using the computer to look up a book I was trying to find for a request. There are only two student staff computers in the staff area, one at the front desk and one near it in the print job area. The print job computer was being used, so I was using the front desk computer. Someone came up, I directed them to the front desk worker (since I'm "not allowed to answer questions", even though I can answer most of them with just my knowledge as a student 9_9) and continued my searching. Shortly before I leave, my supervisor comes up and informs me Librarian X says I should not sit at the front desk, ever. And also, I'd begun lapsing at fluffing the Sumo Bag Chairs every morning (keep in mind, I dislocated my shoulder last Saturday and am far from fully healed at this point).

Luckily, my supervisor is the one who evaluates us and he thinks she's as nitpicky-annoying as I do. So he rolled his eyes and said he understands and won't personally get on me about it.
