People enjoy recreational drugs. This is not exactly a news flash. 
While technically true, saying psilocybin is "beneficial" implies it helps with their CONDITION rather than its symptoms. We already have quite a robust pharmaceutical industry targeting symptoms rather than illnesses to such an extent they sometimes seem to be ignoring the latter entirely. And they don't want a competitor you can grow in your backyard (OK, fine, harvest from your local ranchers fields unless he's using feed with fungicide, not that I've ever done that. ) You know the automatic response to this as well as I, I'm sure: There are plenty of other drugs out there that improve mood and reduce anxiety but AREN'T Schedule I controlled substances.

I can still remember her calling me out from my room and asking me to watch over her for the night because she wanted to die and thought she might kill herself - as a direct result of how she felt on the painkillers, not the due to the radiation burns. Yeah, those painkillers induce such a good mood, I particularly liked the day I caught myself slobbering on myself after taking Vicodin (prescribed and on schedule) for shoulder surgery. The 70 pounds I gained on anti-depressants was pretty sweet too.
