Not that I support government bailouts or feel that they're justified. Nonetheless, to be fair, this really didn't turn out quite so bad, I mean it could have been a lot worse.

I recommend reading these articles from the Economist, which is hardly a liberal paper and has been pretty critical of Obama's economic policies.
