The idea behind the gay bar and the name. I actually wouldnt care if there was a gay bar across the street of the mosque. No different than any other bar except for the fact that gays will be there and they will be *gasp* dancing! I grew up going to a mosque directly next to a southern baptist church and across from a bhuddist temple.

But the idea behind the mosque is just so stupid i dont know how that Red Eye guy could even talk about it with a straight face. The whole idea about the "Islam Friendly" gay section just shows his complete lack of knowledge about islam and probably most gay muslims. he says the Islamic section will serve no alcohol cuz muslims dont drink? Umm yeah if a gay muslim guy is really that out of the closet that he will go to a gay bar across from a mosque im sure he has no problem drinking alcohol, the 2 gay muslims I know also drink and they are somewhat open about their lifestyle and dont really follow any other portion of islam either. They consider themselves Muslims but dont really want to follow any of the rules. The one who is a lesbian certainly doesnt wear a scarf on her head or pray or fast and the gay Muslim guy i know doesn't go to or fast and he doesnt fast or pray but coincidentally he does give up drinking during Ramadan. And im sure even gay Muslims would probably not go into a "Islam friendly" gay bar called "You Mecca Me Hot" regardless of its location. I wonder if this guy will make a separate section for the women in this gay bar for all the shy observant muslim lesbians out there.

The other thing I have a problem with is Glenn beck smiling and giggling about this issue while he read off the possible names for this project. I wonder if I decided to build a gay bar next to a mormon church or (maybe the evangelical church of the Operation Save America assholes protesting outside of the mosque in Bridgeport, CT) that catered to all those poor oppressed gay Mormons and Evangelicals and called it "Bible Humpers" or maybe across from an ultra orthodox synagogue and called it "Yummy Cocks" (yamakas) if he would sit with with me and giggle about the idea and the list of names i had written down?

But I agree that these people have every right to buy private property on that street and build a gay bar and call it whatever they like. If we dont start a national campaign against their gay bar will they leave us alone about the Islamic center and the other few mosques trying to be built around this country? IF yes, then please by all means let them start building.

At the end of the the day the thing I find most confusing is that they are willing to have a "Islam Friendly" gay bar 2 blocks from Ground Zero but a community center with a culinary school, a pool and an art exhibit is not ok.
