Hi all, this is wooly from wotmania. Here's an update that concerns more than one wotmaniac. I'm ok. Sheila (kit) is ok. We are still together after all these years.
A couple of years ago we had our last gathering. Wotmania was ending and we'd sort of outgrown the place. But at that point we were in real trouble. Financially we were screwed. Credit card debt along with high house payments were bringing us down.
At that point in my life I decided to make some changes. Without going into too much detail, I made my career into what I wanted it to be. I got the right drugs (xana to make me an effective public speaker and that made all the difference. So just last Friday I got promoted to R&D Manager. I'm not trying to say that the drugs were the only effective thing, but they overcame a hurdle and allowed my work to shine like it should have all along.
That didn't stop the foreclosure. The house with the pool and palm trees is gone. But just when that was happening the company did a refinance that dispersed a good chunk of money to the shareholders (me). I was able to buy a decent house with that money. Not only that, but I was able to pay off my credit card debts. So now here I am with an easy to afford house payment and no credit card bills.
By hook or by crook we made it. Just last weekend we went to Las Vegas with the knowledge that we shouldn't be trying to save the money for something else. We already have it all. Love, financial security, and hope for the future. It's a good feeling.
I still drive an 11 year old Hyundai but I feel good about it. I can get a new car when I need to. The only thing stopping me is my own prudence. Kit is geeked about the new place too. It has palm trees and a pool. Who knows, we may host a rafo gathering someday. We just need Ben to agree not to shatter glass all over the back porch .

Jeo, if I'm ever in Cali, will you come out and have a glass of warm tap water again?
