the only thing i would be afraid of (because it's happened to me) is having an accident because you were riding in the rain because your only vehicle was a motorcycle and you absolutely *HAVE* to be somewhere *RIGHT NOW*. if you're ok with riding in the rain there is absolutely nothing wrong with doing what you suggest. i bought a motorcycle for the specific reason to do my job more efficiently and it worked out great. of course, i was riding in southern california where it's legal to split lanes but even so i say go for it. what kind of bike are you looking at getting?
It is south Florida so lots. We get dry spells sometimes that last for weeks and occasional showers that seem to sprout randomly, but on average my locale is fairly wet. I don't particularly mind being wet in the rain so much as the possibility of losing traction on the roads.
So I was planning on buying a new car but...
