They act as if they are not responsible in any way for how the kids feel they can behave toward them.
I have seen parents whose children insulted them and then the parents appealed to me about how bad those children were behaved. Uhm... perhaps you should tell them that this is not ok?
Same with kids not cleaning up their rooms, throwing tantrums, running away, etc.
