The police in Indianapolis are at a loss on how to handle the Black Expo. Every year this convention takes places crime rates soar but the police cannot do very much about it because they are accused of racism.

I was honestly always terrified to go downtown during the Black Expo. There has been several shootings in previous years. People literally walk around downtown smoking weed in the open and drinking big bottles of beer and malt liquor. It literally smelled like a haze of pot on some streets. My brother worked in a hotel downtown and always told me about all the public fights that took place and all the cars that stolen out of their garage. People would commonly shoot their gun off from outside their car.

It is a shame that this event degrades into such crime, but it has been going on for years.
