You cannot change the default settings in WordPad but there is a kind of workaround. everynametaken Send a noteboard - 14/07/2010 04:20:50 AM
However, if you know how to set up a dual boot system, you know enough to do your own googling. :P

I did google the WordPad thing, but so far have found nothing. I think there might be a way to do it from the registry, but I don't want to try unless I see that someone else has done it first.

You can either click on the paragraph "button" and change your settings every time you open WordPad and start typing.

OR

1. Open WordPad.
2. Change all your settings to what you want as a default template. Clicking on the paragraph settings button in the ribbon will open a dialogue box and let you set your line space and turn of the 10 pt. space.
3. Save the file in a folder somewhere where you don't have to look at it and it won't interfere with your computer usage.
4. Right click on it and make a shortcut to your desktop.
5. Use the shortcut to launch WordPad and your default settings should be setup still.

It's kind of a pain in the butt but it is a workaround. That is the only thing I can suggest.

Wordpad in general is unusable now, which is a shame. *NM* - 13/07/2010 10:49:56 PM 206 Views
