I haven't been around for a while, and now I've reached that stage where it feels like I can only look and not touch, so I guess I'll just present a simple, shallow little survey here, and hopefully start posting more soon.
Anyway, they're all supposed to be universally beloved, but certain traditions just aren't fun at all for some of us... someone with Crohn's disease or even just a strong sense of moderation isn't going to derive much pleasure from Thanksgiving, for example.
I don't like the Fourth. Going to see a fireworks display is one thing, but when your crazy redneck neighbors set explosives off all week (beginning at eight in the morning) and don't even create pretty lights with them - well, it's stupid. Also, my puppy has never been more petrified.
I guess I'm not a great fan of celecrating any militarist revolutionary holiday type things.
2. How have you been?
I'm quite well, thank you. Finished my exams about ten days ago and have just been relaxing since then. Results are out in August some time.
3. Would you ever move (permanently) to a place you had never seen or visited before?
No, not until I'd visited somewhere would I move there.
4. How do you feel about lapsed friendships - something that can always be revived, or a sign that loyalty is missing? If the latter, how long before you call it quits on the relationship?
I don't really know. it would depend if the person was a good friend or merely an acquaintance. Ten years for a friend, one or two for acquaintances, maybe?
5. Can exes ever really be friends?
Sure.
6. What is your favorite summer food?
Ice cream. No contest.
7. Do you know how to drive a manual car? What country are you from?
Yes, sort of. The wonderful land of Ireland
8. What's the scariest driving experience you've ever had?
The day of my first driving lesson, and a massive lorry started tailgating me when I was only on the road for like two minutes.
9. What's the longest (most driving hours per day) road trip you've ever done?
Never driven a road trip, really.
10. Do you have any books or pieces of literature you reread yearly (or according to some other sort of schedule)? What are they?
Not quite yearly but I've reread all the harry potter books with something approaching a regular interval of time.
Other news with me - am planning to set out for my new home in WA, bright and early Tuesday morning. It will be a long drive, and I don't entirely know where I'll end up. I hope it will be nice.
Very good luck with your expedition. I hope you have a great success with your move.
