I haven't been around for a while, and now I've reached that stage where it feels like I can only look and not touch, so I guess I'll just present a simple, shallow little survey here, and hopefully start posting more soon.
Anyway, they're all supposed to be universally beloved, but certain traditions just aren't fun at all for some of us... someone with Crohn's disease or even just a strong sense of moderation isn't going to derive much pleasure from Thanksgiving, for example.
I don't like the Fourth. Going to see a fireworks display is one thing, but when your crazy redneck neighbors set explosives off all week (beginning at eight in the morning) and don't even create pretty lights with them - well, it's stupid. Also, my puppy has never been more petrified.
I love AND hate Christmas. I love giving gifts, and while i like receiving them, I rarely do. Also there is all the family crap.
2. How have you been?
I've been up and down. I have consolidated my life to some degree, and have benefitted much from it. Also, school is going well.
3. Would you ever move (permanently) to a place you had never seen or visited before?
no no no
4. How do you feel about lapsed friendships - something that can always be revived, or a sign that loyalty is missing? If the latter, how long before you call it quits on the relationship?
I've been thinking about this a lot lately.. and I just don't have an answer. I FEEL like the loyalty is missing, but I might just be being too harsh. I just don't know.
5. Can exes ever really be friends?
I'm friends with several. But they are ex's from high school, and it's been YEARS since the hurt. I'm NOT friends with any recent ex's
6. What is your favorite summer food?
Watermelon and strawberries7. Do you know how to drive a manual car? What country are you from?
Yes. US
8. What's the scariest driving experience you've ever had?
When my dad was driving and we crashed while driving 50+ mph.
9. What's the longest (most driving hours per day) road trip you've ever done?
When I drove to SC and home from SC, alone and amazingly pissed off on my way back. The longest 13 hours EVER.
10. Do you have any books or pieces of literature you reread yearly (or according to some other sort of schedule)? What are they?
YES. I read HP about once a year. I read Mercedes Lackey's Magic's series about once a year. And I read WOT about once every two or three years.
Other news with me - am planning to set out for my new home in WA, bright and early Tuesday morning. It will be a long drive, and I don't entirely know where I'll end up. I hope it will be nice.
Good for you!! Best of luck!!
