I haven't been around for a while, and now I've reached that stage where it feels like I can only look and not touch, so I guess I'll just present a simple, shallow little survey here, and hopefully start posting more soon.
Anyway, they're all supposed to be universally beloved, but certain traditions just aren't fun at all for some of us... someone with Crohn's disease or even just a strong sense of moderation isn't going to derive much pleasure from Thanksgiving, for example.
I don't like the Fourth. Going to see a fireworks display is one thing, but when your crazy redneck neighbors set explosives off all week (beginning at eight in the morning) and don't even create pretty lights with them - well, it's stupid. Also, my puppy has never been more petrified.
I do not like Christmas anymore. Dad died on december 25th 2007. My birthday is also the next day so its kinda ruined too.
2. How have you been?
outstanding.
3. Would you ever move (permanently) to a place you had never seen or visited before?
no way
4. How do you feel about lapsed friendships - something that can always be revived, or a sign that loyalty is missing? If the latter, how long before you call it quits on the relationship?
It depends on the friend. Some can be revived easily. I can think of a few friends I would love to see but haven't for years. Others not so much though.
5. Can exes ever really be friends?
yes they can but I think only if they happened to be friends before the relationship.
6. What is your favorite summer food?
Corn on the Cob.
7. Do you know how to drive a manual car? What country are you from?
Yes I drive one now. It gets better gas mileage than my other car of the same make and model but it is newer. USA!
8. What's the scariest driving experience you've ever had?
I was returning from a concert and driving through construction (one lane) on an interstate it was stop and go for about 20 minutes. Then we get going along at a pretty good clip (45 mph) the truck in front of me stops on a dime and I crash into the back of his bumper and the car behind me hit me. I thought the car was totalled but I managed to get it home. 60 miles left in the trip when the accident occured. Really scary one time, I was stopped at a traffic light ready to turn left. oncoming traffic has the right of way so I am sitting in my lane when a huge plow truck decides to come pretty much directly at me in my lane instead of staying in his lane. I threw the car in reverse and just managed to move a little bit because of traffic behind and to the right side of me. He corrected at the LAST second and didn't hit me. I thought he was gonna roll right over me.
9. What's the longest (most driving hours per day) road trip you've ever done?
12 hours
10. Do you have any books or pieces of literature you reread yearly (or according to some other sort of schedule)? What are they?
Not on any schedule but I do re read WOT alot.
Other news with me - am planning to set out for my new home in WA, bright and early Tuesday morning. It will be a long drive, and I don't entirely know where I'll end up. I hope it will be nice.
