Heck, toward the end I wasn't even all that active on Wotmania - but still, here I am!
Somewhat motivated by the last day of Wotmania chat I decided to throw a post up. I actually had a profile set up and was lurking a bit before that, but this is my first real readandfindout.com post, so there.
Let's see - what's new? My daughter turned three a week ago. That was rather cool. She's still a very happy little bug, if all too clever and stubborn - much like her parents. It's rather cute watching her grab the broom and leap off furniture trying to get to fly like Kiki. And every black cat is Jiji. Every one.
Three years now at the same job - not a record but unusual in that I don't hate it, so that's nice. Not too fond of the hour each way commute but other than that it's good. Particularly the people.
Amy and I have been married a touch over a year now. That's going very well. We've started some renovations on our house. Our roommate of many years has moved out and we're re-doing the 3rd floor first as it's vacant. The guest room is nearly complete but we're stalled a bit as some friends are in need and are using it for a couple of weeks. Given that's why we've got it, though, that's cool.
Amy's learned power tools, something she's always wanted to do, and is super excited about it. The wood stripping has been her job and she's done an amazing job. It's a lot of work but the results are stunning. All the wood up there is beautiful red fir which is just this side of impossible to find nowadays but was apparently common back in 1912.
Next year is the 10th anniversary of us running our 40k tournament Astronomi-con. We're doing something a bit nuts and doing an additional 4th event (we usually do 3 a year all in different cities) this one being what we're calling the 'Astronomi-cruise'. Hmm. 40k on a cruise ship! :-)
Should be fun.
Well, good to see all of you again and to meet the new folks as well. Take care and please write!
