I would have loved that, in a "holy crap that's ridiculously cheesy and at the same time hilarious" kind of way and then I would have said Yes to dinner.
So, uh, there?

Maybe you are different than most of the women I have ever known. I certainly don't want to say there aren't exceptions to the rule. He already asked her out and she said yes. Why send a nonsensical text message - you wouldn't find it a little "trying too hard" or even creepy? I think a LOT of women would be put of by such a thing, certainly most of the women I know.
As I said further down there is definitely a time when such things are fine. All relationships end up with pet names, "cute" little text messages and so on but he doesn't even hardly know her and she doesn't even hardly know him. What does the message add that he doesn't already have (a date)? Nothing. What could it harm? A lot.
But wine was the great assassin of both tradition and propriety...

In that case, you may overestimate how many of the "people you know" know those abbreviations. *NM*

Probably because checkers can effectively be played with mismatched pieces.

It isn't rhetoric, it's the truth. A cute text message is pussy bullshit.
