There he is, running to make a relatively easy clearance, despite the chaos around him, when suddenly a boot flies up from nowhere and smacks him in the head. The poor chap finds himself on the ground, head bleeding, uselessly scrambling toward a ball that shortly rolls past him into the net.

I can't even imagine what his thoughts at that moment were.
