psychologically it's difficult when you lose your first game, even if you might have been expected to lose it at a point in the group stages, they'll have to pick themselves up for games they would have contended for had they have played ghana/serbia first.

it's all irrelevant, but i'd like to think that had we have played USA last, beating slovenia and algeria in the first two games, we'd have had enough to beat them in the end

Australia though will now struggle to come out of the group stages. Losing Cahill is a major blow, a horrible decision from the ref. Neil and Moore look slooooow and credit to them for still getting forward in towards the end there's not much guile to their play, not enough creativity going forward.

That red card was a shocker, and it's going to affect us more than losing this game.

Hopefully we play Kewell and Kennedy in the next game, Cahill's best position is in midfield, not as our chief goal scorer.

anyway you'd back germany and ghana now for progression

I'm not giving up just yet.

i wondered why Kewell didn't start and they didn't even bother to throw on Kennedy when they were 2 down with Cahill on the pitch

Cahill's awesome he can play anywhere ;) i remember at the start of the season for everton he played alright upfront by himself
