I really liked Clover but if you need to change, Lupine is nice too even if it has a wolfy touch :p
I wish I had saved more things but I was away for so long I didn't remember what to save
I kept some of the more important (to me) messages that I wrote.
So much is lost, I mainly regret not saving the thread in the RPG board I took part in. Maybe some tournaments, and theory threads. Surely some others I haven't remembered yet...
Given that my time zone was wotmania-6 IIRC, I would have liked being there but sleeping was more important for me at the moment :p
A bit sad Mike decided to close the site but life is change, right?
I hadn't been to wotmania in a year and a half. Getting back to it for the end made me want to get there more often, so I'll probably visit RAFO more often...
I miss the time and date of the last reply in the threads on the board.
I was first stronly in favour of rafomaniacs for the link to our roots but I prefer rafonauts now, makes me think we are adventurers in a strange land (like Jason and the argonauts :p)
teal, like I did on wotmania
I like my current one, though the unread message threads' titles are too bright a shade of turquoise I think :p I' like a darker, more sober one...
I left the orignal, I kinda like it :p
I don't really care
Mmm mouse-over but it's not much of a deal
Maybe a little more graphics, maybe some fan art, some of the one that was on wotmania was really good. And some non-wot fan-art as well, RAFO is less wot that wotmania :p
I'm not a huge fan. I tried to imagine alternatives before but couldn't find one. Maybe a more detailed old book, something like an old wizard spellbook :p
If I don't forget to do it, I'll try to draw something
In this life, everything is possible, though not very probable...
With a large cup of tea, a couple of chocolate biscuits and good ol' friends with me
I'm not a big fan of my full SN but I've grown used to it, it's who I was on wotmania... I've already registered "Lady Isa" in case I change my mind :p
No really. In theory I'm good, but in practice I'm a mess So I really should give advice to anyone :p
Genuine literature, hard to define. I'll go by "La Peste" (The Plague) by Albert Camus.
We moved in a new apartment last month so we don't know our neighbours that well but the elderly couple in the apartment one floor below is really nice. They even took care of our cat and our fishes when we were on vacation
I prefer being home. It's easier with Matthieu. He can be put to bed if he's tired and I don't have to watch him so closely, the place is secured for him and he knows what he cannot do
In the summer months, because students are away (I live near a uni campus), the city is quiter, cleaner and less crowded
I take part in the daycare's general assembly, I attend community punctual events but nothing on a regular basis... I'm still trying to find a working rythm in my life
1. What remnants of wotmania did you save? If you chose not to save anything, what was your thinking on the matter?
I wish I had saved more things but I was away for so long I didn't remember what to save
I kept some of the more important (to me) messages that I wrote.
So much is lost, I mainly regret not saving the thread in the RPG board I took part in. Maybe some tournaments, and theory threads. Surely some others I haven't remembered yet...
2. Did you stick around for the closing?
Given that my time zone was wotmania-6 IIRC, I would have liked being there but sleeping was more important for me at the moment :p
3. How did you feel about the whole thing - and about the subsequent transition?
A bit sad Mike decided to close the site but life is change, right?
4. Name changes are obvious, but are you intending to do anything differently in terms of site activity here? (Frequenting more boards, posting more thoughtfully [hahaha, I crack myself up]).
I hadn't been to wotmania in a year and a half. Getting back to it for the end made me want to get there more often, so I'll probably visit RAFO more often...
5. Is there anything you miss about wotmania so far? Any RAFO-related change that really pleases you?
I miss the time and date of the last reply in the threads on the board.
6. What's your pick for our collective identity? (Rafolites, Rafonauts...)
I was first stronly in favour of rafomaniacs for the link to our roots but I prefer rafonauts now, makes me think we are adventurers in a strange land (like Jason and the argonauts :p)
Now onto issues of layout.
7. What colors do you currently use?
teal, like I did on wotmania
8. What color palettes would you like to see?
I like my current one, though the unread message threads' titles are too bright a shade of turquoise I think :p I' like a darker, more sober one...
9. What font do you use? (Did you know you can customize that? ) What fonts would you like added?
I left the orignal, I kinda like it :p
10. You prefer navigation bars that are:
I don't really care
A) On the left
B) On the right, or
C) Across the top
11. Do you like the current set-up, where you have to click to see the options, or did you prefer the old wotmania version, where a mouse-over would cause the menus to drop down?
Mmm mouse-over but it's not much of a deal
12. Do you like all of the icons? Would you like to see more graphics? If so, what kind?
Maybe a little more graphics, maybe some fan art, some of the one that was on wotmania was really good. And some non-wot fan-art as well, RAFO is less wot that wotmania :p
13. Do you like the current logo? If not, what would you like to see?
I'm not a huge fan. I tried to imagine alternatives before but couldn't find one. Maybe a more detailed old book, something like an old wizard spellbook :p
If I don't forget to do it, I'll try to draw something
14. If you've given any general thought to the matter, please tell me your thoughts here. (Sketch something out in words, maybe?)
Please note that I am not even going to think about changing the way threads and subthreads are displayed. I like it the way it is, and such fiddling is beyond my capabilities anyway. I may try messing with the identations, but again, I'm not even sure I know how to do that, so I'm not making any promises.
Miscellany
15. Do you think it is possible for an established politician to undergo a major ideological shift? That is, a genuine one, not one for political gain.
In this life, everything is possible, though not very probable...
16. What is your favorite way to experience nostalgia?
With a large cup of tea, a couple of chocolate biscuits and good ol' friends with me
17. Are you content with your given name & surname? If not, how come? What would you change it to if you could?
I'm not a big fan of my full SN but I've grown used to it, it's who I was on wotmania... I've already registered "Lady Isa" in case I change my mind :p
18. Are you good with time management? If yes, any advice?
No really. In theory I'm good, but in practice I'm a mess So I really should give advice to anyone :p
19. What was the first piece of genuine "literature" that you remember appreciating?
Genuine literature, hard to define. I'll go by "La Peste" (The Plague) by Albert Camus.
20. Are you on friendly terms with your neighbors? (Apartment neighbors count too.) If so, how did you get that way?
We moved in a new apartment last month so we don't know our neighbours that well but the elderly couple in the apartment one floor below is really nice. They even took care of our cat and our fishes when we were on vacation
21. When you hang out with people, do you have the most fun on your own turf (in your apartment or home), at their place(s), or in a neutral spot, like a pub or a mall?
I prefer being home. It's easier with Matthieu. He can be put to bed if he's tired and I don't have to watch him so closely, the place is secured for him and he knows what he cannot do
22. If you could invite a foreign/distant friend to visit your city/town at any season or time of year, which would you pick as ideal?
In the summer months, because students are away (I live near a uni campus), the city is quiter, cleaner and less crowded
2-. Do you participate in any community-ish events? (Local markets, library book clubs, church events, etc.) Which ones?
I take part in the daycare's general assembly, I attend community punctual events but nothing on a regular basis... I'm still trying to find a working rythm in my life
