There are a few other ways as well:
1. bacterial fermentation-- many fermented products have extremely large amounts of B-12 in them.
2. some mushrooms, yeast, and fungi are believed to have B-12 in them. Thus many vegans add Brewers yeast to their food.
3. Self-fermentation. I work in the medical field. I have heard several reports about unsupplemented long-time vegans having adequate supplies of B-12. It is believed that some people may have the right species of probiotic strains in their gut that can create their own supply of B-12. Unfortunately, this is not everyone.
I don't largely support the idea of being a vegan as their are no ancient cultures that I no of that have lived on a vegan diet for long periods of time. Even the legendary Essenes lived on a vegetarian diet supplemented with dairy. But if people want to try the diet, it shouldn't be too much of a problem as long as they supplement with B-12 and stay away from too many processed foods.

There are 3 ways to get B12 without animal products in your diet.
1) Supplements made from animal substances
2) Supplements made from artificially generated B12. No "natural ingredients" here. (I'm not even sure these actually exist)
3) Supplements made from bacterial excretions (hahaha bacteria poop) I bet you they whip the bacteria too. With tiny whips. To make them poop supplements for your self-righteous behinds.
he he he he poop. and you're eating it. hahahaha.

Not really. Have you ever been to a large packing place when they put the left overs in the dogs? *NM*

While there is a problem with the first one, I don't see why the second two are funny. *NM*
