There are no firm plans on how to deal with the north joining the republic

I wonder if Stormont will ever call a referendum on joining the Republic, and whether they'll ever get a yes vote. And if so, I wonder whether the Republic would let the North keep its devolved powers. Has the RoI government ever said anything about this?
Principally because it is unlikely to happen anytime soon and frankly the government wouldn't want it to happen in the near future considering how much money the north costs.
If it did happen it's highly unlikely that stormont would continue to exist beyond an initial adjustment period.

Nope. The Tories can form a minority government and risk the danger of collapsing.
