I was constantly checking up on Fermanagh & South Tyrone during the recounts. Tim Send a noteboard - 12/05/2010 01:16:50 PM
So disappointing that the Independent Unionist (whose number one campaign promise was to turn up for work) failed to beat Sinn Féin by four votes. The initial result gave him a win by eight.

I also thought it was quite funny that the Ulster Unionists' sole remaining MP deserted them over the alliance with the Tories, went independent, and held her seat, excluding her former party from Westminster entirely.

I wonder if Stormont will ever call a referendum on joining the Republic, and whether they'll ever get a yes vote. And if so, I wonder whether the Republic would let the North keep its devolved powers. Has the RoI government ever said anything about this?
