Chicago bears beat by Patriots has a nice ring to it
Pro Football Reference has it as a sixteen game streak dating from a 2-0 loss to the Packers the previous year. But that whole era was weird for the Bears, the source of some of their greatest prides and shames. In '34 they managed a perfect regular season but lost the Championship to the Giants 30-13; in '42 they were perfect again--right up until the 'Skins beat them 14-6 in the Championship. Perhaps the most interesting thing about them during that time is that it was then that they introduced the T formation to the NFL, as recounted in the classic "The Hidden Game of Football" which records that two years before Washington tarnished Chicagos perfect season the Bears beat them 73-0 in the Championship Game. The T was just THAT far ahead of what everyone else was doing at the time.
I sympathize with the bears fans anyway, as a san fransisco native but raised under the shadow of perpetual trouncing of Kosar and the Browns by the evil Jon Elway in every AFC match up before going on to see the broncos get plastered in the superbowl I appreciate those who are not 'fairweather fans'

I don't see any reference to Guy Fawkes. Like, none at all.

The title does rather remind one of those "Remember, remember the fifth of November" lines...

Agree. Seems to me the November is all about the election date, what with the tick and all.

Is expecting anyone who'd watch the ad to know the elections are in November expecting too much?

That's a pretty big stretch.

Oilers, Broncos and Cowboys fan; I loathe both the Browns and the 'Niners.

True, but to (belatedly) be fair, I don't think that's REALLY the RGAs intent here.
