But it's the same principle - kicking someone out for something you don't like about them.

im not asking the brits to be denied service ebcuase they are white, im saying to kick them out of the hotel for being racist. most establishments reserve the righ to refuse service, I cant think of a better time than this for them to exercise that right. If a black guy came into my hotel and said he didnt want to deal with any hispanics, i would tell him to get going.
And that's your prerogative, but it makes you no different than the people who would refuse service to blacks. And that is not good or bad. Some people would not patronize a place that served blacks. They would refuse to eat in a restaurant where they would be seated in the same section as blacks and in hotels where they might sleep in a bed previously occupied by a black person. Especially in the southern states, refusing service to blacks did not necessarily make you a racist - it was often good business sense and kept your family fed. Which group do you cater to? The poorer and smaller group, or the wealthier and larger group, who is more likely to demand exclusivity? That's basically a no-brainer.
Kicking a guest out of your hotel for being racist is only a smart move if they are being racist at other guests. Requesting that they have no contact with the service staff is entirely reasonable, unless you have no personnel they would find acceptable. Throwing people out for their preferences is absolutely no different than refusing service to a person of a particular religion or sexual orientation, except for where each individual lies in your particular scheme of preference. Some people think certain religions or sexual orientations are far worse than racists. On what grounds do you presume YOUR views to be right?

They should've told them to take a hike, but the claim for 75k disgusts me too.

What sort of tips do you think a racist would give a black waiter?

Nonsense. The hotel should refuse to do so, and people who disagree can go elsewhere.

I disagree. Those ridiculous claims are a major problem in America.

Why is 75k all right, but 200k not? Where do you draw the line, and why? *NM*

The line is arbitrary, I agree. Yet Legolas was against the mere idea of financial recompense

So you support the right of a hotel to deny lodgings or service to a black person?
